Dog hair called Chiengora (Chien being french for dog and engora meaning angora) has been around for centuries used as a warmer than wool textile with a beautiful halo very similar looking to angora.  I can hand spin your dog hair or cat hair into yarn or finished products such as knit hats and scarves.  I'm most comfortable with spinning a two ply DK weight yarn so that is what I normally offer for services.  My blue ribbons have all been from my two ply DK weight yarns.  The result is a very balanced and versatile yarn that can be used for many types of projects. 

Dog hair can come from naturally brushed out or shed hair or from cut hair for those dogs that do not shed but rather need frequent haircuts.  The price is based at $12 per ounce of finished yarn.  You only pay for the outgoing finished weight of the resulting yarn after it has been carded, spun, two plyed, washed and skeined.   Please inquire at my e-mail: fmariann69@hotmail.com  for any questions or before sending fiber so that I can expect it and give you an estimated finished product shipment date.  Please put dog hair spinning or chiengora in the e-mail subject headlines so I do not miss it.  I also can spin other exotic fibers for you.  Just ask and I'll get right back with you to discuss the project.
