Angora Rabbit Fiber is one of the softest fibers in the world. Softer than alpaca with an average micron count of between 8-14, angora is the ultimate of luxury fibers.
Our angora rabbits produce extremely soft fiber that I handspin into a 2 ply sport weight yarn that will have a beautiful halo. The awesome thing about angora is that the more you wear your angora the more the natural halo will appear.
The yarn colors presently available are grey (black in bunny terms but the actual color is grey), fawn, and white. We presently have 8 Angora bunnies that are Giant, French and Giant/French Crosses. Our Angora is non-dyed. The beautiful pastel colors that you see in the photo are all natural right from the bunnies. The bunnies are given a haircut about 5 times a year. Harvesting their fiber does not harm the bunnies in any way. They actually enjoy being groomed.
Our angora handspun yarn is $15 per ounce(28 grams per ounce). Angora is very lightweight so an ounce goes a long ways. I often have angora spun, but it does not stick around long. Please visit Mariann's Etsy Store to see what is spun up and available for immediate shipment at http://www.etsy.com/shop/bhmalpacas
