Great Pyrenees Dogs

Great Pyrenees Mountain Dogs guard the alpacas, the livestock and the house.   As the name suggests, The Great Pyrenees is an ancient breed originating in the Pyrenees Mountains of France and Spain.  The Great Pyrenees belongs to the Great Family of Livestock Guardian Dogs.  Territorial and protective by nature, they will bond with "their" humans and "their" livestock defending them with their lives when necessary.  Magestic, intelligent, beautiful, courageous, confident, affectionate, fearless, patient and loyal.  A Pyrenees can be trusted with small, young helpless animals of any kind but has absolute intolerance for any predators, coupled with an extraordinary patience and kindness to its stock and it's owners.  Especially gentle with and protective of children.  Pyrenees hair can be collected when brushed as they shed twice a year and made into a very warm yarn.  Pyrenees hair can also be felted.  See photos below.
