Both Mariann and Jeff enjoy spending times outdoors and in the Big Horn Mountains with their daughter, Maria. Mariann (previously taught for 13 years in the public schools, with a Masters in education and doctoral work) is self employed as a fiber artist, turning each animals' yearly shearings into finished products and attending to the daily animal care and chores. Mariann also processes customer's fibers into finished products (including cat and dog hairs into yarn, scarves and hats). Jeff works as a Program Development Officer for an organization servicing individuals with disabilities. Little Maria oversees it all and is involved with all aspects of the ranch. Mariann and Jeff are also well known distance runners. Jeff has been an Olympic Trials Finalist in the marathon (2:14 marathon PR) and Olympic Trials qualifier in the 10,000 meters. Mariann has been on the Womens Olympic Development Program (7:12 50 miler , 2:56 marathon, 35:54 10K, 4:44 mile) and is currently sponsored by Brooks running for the Inspire Daily Team. In addition to the alpacas, they also own Angora Rabbits raised for their fiber, horses, Great Pyrenees Livestock Guardian Dogs, chickens, and their most trusted friend and watchful companion, their burro Aunt Maggie.
